Alanya Private Boat

Swimming and snorkelling from a private boat in Alanya

On a private boat in Alanya the captain chooses clear, quiet bays for swim stops, and you can snorkel with the masks on board or swim straight off the boat. A freshwater shower on board rinses off the salt. The number of stops is not fixed; it depends on your group, the sea and the weather.

How swim stops work on a private boat

Between the sights of the castle headland and the sea caves, the captain looks for calm water where your group can swim. Because the boat is yours, the stops follow you: a longer stop if everyone is enjoying the water, a short one if the group would rather move on.

We do not promise a number of stops or a named beach. The captain decides on the day what is sensible, sea and weather permitting.

This is one of the clearest differences from a shared trip. On a busy boat, everyone goes in and comes out at the same time. On a private boat, your group decides when the swim is over.

Snorkelling with the masks on board

Snorkelling masks are on board for your group, so you do not need to bring your own. In clear water a mask is all you need to look below the surface.

If you have your own mask and prefer it, you are welcome to bring it. Water sports such as jet ski or banana rides are not part of the trip.

A mask turns a swim into something more: even a few minutes looking down through clear water is something children tend to enjoy.

The freshwater shower

After a swim you can rinse off with fresh water on board. It is a small thing that makes a difference over six hours, especially for children and anyone sensitive to salt on the skin.

It also means you can go back in the water at the next stop without spending the rest of the trip sticky with salt.

If not everyone swims

Not every guest has to go in. Non-swimmers and anyone who would rather stay dry can stay on deck while others swim. On a private boat there is no pressure and no programme to follow.

For families, it helps to agree beforehand who swims at each stop. The children guide has more on planning with young swimmers.

There is no expectation to swim at every stop. Some guests swim once and spend the rest of the day watching the coast go by.

Ask for more swimming, or less

If swimming is the main reason for your trip, tell the captain at the start; the route can lean towards bays rather than sightseeing. The your own route guide explains what you can ask for.

If the caves matter more, the captain can spend longer there instead; the castle and sea caves guide covers the sightseeing part.

Bring swimwear, a towel and sunscreen; the full list is in what to bring.

Questions guests ask

Do we need to bring snorkelling masks?

No. Masks are on board for your group. Bring your own only if you prefer it.

Can we swim near the sea caves?

The captain chooses where it is calm and sensible to swim. We do not promise a swim at any particular cave.

Can we hire a jet ski during the trip?

Water sports are not part of the private boat trip and are not included in the price. Ask us if you have a question; the boat itself is booked on the boat page.
